If we were to take a walk on the Moon..

In class, we measured our Earth step and multiplied that number by 5 to figure out what our normal step would look like on the Moon. We marked our Earth and Moon step side by side with chalk and our results were very interesting!!

Shadows

Today we traced our shadows around 11:45 and again at 3:15.  Ask your child what happened to their shadows when they returned to them in the afternoon! 

Phases of the Moon

Students worked in small groups to put the phases of the moon in order!

Wet Soil Observations

The students made smears with wet humus, sand, and clay!

Soils.

Students spent time investigating three different types of soil: clay, sand, and humus. They discussed what it sounded like, smelled liked, looked like, and felt like.
