Cloud in a Cup.

Kindergartner came in for a collaboration on the water cycle. They loved watching their cloud eventually "rain." The activity involved them making a hypothesis, drawing what they observed, and writing "how to"statements.

Separating Mixtures!

Third graders were given the task to seperate a mystery mixture! Once realizing the mixture was salt and pepper, they had to decide on a plan to separate the salt from the pepper. After several tries, they realized that the salt sinks and pepper floats. Next they used coffee filters to get the pepper out of the water. Then with the help of evaporation, the water eventually dried leaving the salt in one pile and pepper in another.

Chromatography

Chromatography is a process in which you seperate colors into their basic components. Third grade students were surprised to see which colors actually made up black!
